International yoga day was celebrated by the students and Teachers with great enthusiasm.
Students of Grade III to IX demonstrated various Asana followed by Omkar Chanting.
Investiture Ceremony - 27th July 2019
“Teach them to shoulder responsibility where they are young” The new student council was inducted during the investiture ceremony. Vice president Mrs.Jeevalatha, Director Mr.M.A. Selvaraj, Principal, Teachers, Students and Parents graced the Occasion with their esteemed presence.
The council members were conferred with sashes and badges after which they pledged to lead the school to greater heights and fulfill their duties to the best of their ability.
The Head boy J.B Saikharan and Head Girl Nilofar Nisha took the Oath of Office. The Chief Guest Mr. Rotarian, Mr.M.K. Subramani spoke about the essential qualities of Leadership and wished the student council a Successful year head.
Independence Day - 15th August 2019
15th August 2019. The chief guest Mr. K. Elavari General manager civil supplies corporation hoist the National flag on the school building sharp at 8.00 Am. All the students and teachers saluted the flag and then sang the national anthem then followed the cultural programme, patriotic poems and songs recited by the teachers and students. Some students also presented the group dance and skits.
Teachers day celebration - 5th September 2019
Teacher’s day was celebrated on 5th September 2019 with great enthusiasm. This day is also celebrated to honor Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan., the great teacher and India’s second president. It came out as a pleasant surprise for the member of the faculty when the students organized various events for them as a token of affection, respect, and gratitude. During the second half of the day, The management organized sumptuous lunch for the members of the faculty. All present there enjoyed the fun-filled afternoon in a congenial environment and many faculty members won prizes also in fun games.
Educational Trip (Ooty) - 3 rd October 2019
60 students and Principal with 10 teachers assembled at the Central Railway Station – Chennai to begin their four days educational trip to Ooty. Besides the trip being fulfilled it provided the students from XI and XII to demonstrate some of the virtues such a Responsibility, Co-operation, Tolerance concern for others, sharing the outside confines of the school, and away from the close supervision of their Parents and Teachers.
- We stayed in the Hotel Gladen Manner which had all the facilities available which made us homely and comfortable.
- It was fascinating to visit the Botanical Garden and Tea estate showcased the efforts made to revive and sustain a green planet.
- Visit the Dodd beta which is the highest peak where we enjoyed being above the clouds.
- Students understood how the tasty tea is brewed through the visit to the Tea factory and came to know hoe home-made chocolate is prepared.
- The excitement of shopping too was provided on their trip. It was a treat to see students bargain and calculate to strike a good deal.
- The trip was a success as it brought out qualities among the students as well as a teacher are grateful to our Management for the wonderful opportunity given to explore our knowledge through this trip.
Food Fest - 23rd November 2019
The Food Fest was held at Karthigeyan Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 23.11.19. This was the first year of the festival in the theme of “EAT CLEAN AND GREEN. EAT ORGANIC” and the festival attracted a crowd of around 500 visitors along with students on that day. The whole school was decorated with vibrant colour, garlands, posters and banners reflecting the creativity of the students.
The festival was aimed to popularize the traditional food with explicit references of origin and mainly initiate the organic food importance among the students and visitors. It was also aimed at grooming the leadership and entrepreneur skills of the students and gives them exposure to display their passion in culinary, art and games.
The celebration started with the prayer song followed by the lighting the lamp by Ms.Jeevalatha, Vice president, Mr.Selvaraj, Director, and Ms.Dharani, principal. Welcome Address was given by Ms.Dharani. The dignitaries on the dais were presented with mementos. Then followed by key note address given by Dr.G.Nithya on the topic “organic food and its benefits” and also the main objective of the food fest. Then after her address musical entertainment was given by Ms.Swarna and she played the divine instrument “veena” and made the gathering in a pleasure mood. Then vice president Ms.Jeevalatha and Mr.Selvaraj, Director, inaugurated the food fest by cutting ribbon in the stall.
The students of all classes participated in this fest and are not culinary experts but young and enthusiastic foodies who had set up various stalls selling food ranging from organic and traditional. There around seven stalls were opened on that day.
Founder’s day celebration – 21st December 2019
The day was graced by our correspondent madam Mrs. A. Gomathi Bai, Director Mr. M.A. Selvaraj, Vice president Mrs. D. Jeevalatha, and Principal Mrs. S. Dharani and our chief guest Mrs. S. Venugopal, Asst.Traffic Commissioner.
The programme begins with the prayer song followed by the welcome address form the principal who welcomed the gathering and explained about the establishment and achievement of the school. Mr. Selvaraj Director of Vadapalani Educational Society, shared his good experience and the vision of the founder and the chairman Late Mr.A.Arumugam and he recollected the progress of the school has made in the last decade. He wished the teachers, Students and the non – teaching staffs for their collaborative effort to make the chairman vision comes true.
Various cultural programmes were performed by students of various classes. Finally the day ended with good zest and enthusiasm.
Road Safety Awareness Rally – 21st December 2019
Awareness Rally for Road Safety was organised on December 21st 2019 by Karthigeyan Matric. Hr. Sec. School. The objective of the rally was to bring the public awareness about traffic rules and ultimately to reduce casualty due to road accidents. People loss their life and get injured in road accidents, mainly due to lack of awareness about traffic rules.
The chief guest of the programme was Mr. S. Venugopal, Assistant Traffic Commissioner, Chennai District, provided guidance to all the students by telling them about the road safety rules
The rally was flagged off by the correspondent madam from our school and ended in arcot road suriya hospital signal. At the rally, the students shouted out the slogans about wearing helmet, seat belts while driving car, Not to use cell phones while driving, etc…
This event was successfully completed under the guidance of the principal. The Management congratulated all the students and teachers for their great work.
